House Crow

House Crow (Corvus splendens), also called Common Crow, is a very common breeding resident. This bird is found in all habitats of Haryana. As compared to the similar Large-billed Crow, it has a grey neck and smaller size. Sexes alike. The brood-parasite Asian Koel lays its eggs in the House Crow's nests. With the alarming decline of vulture population in Haryana, the House Crows have largely taken over their role as scavengers. But the increase in the Crow population is having an adverse affect on other bird species.
