Baikal Teal

Baikal Teal (Anas formosa), also called Formosa Teal, is a very rare winter visitor in Haryana. Only historical records are available. This bird is found in the wetlands and marshes. The Baikal Teal breeds in summer in north eastern Siberia and migrates south to winter in Tibet, China, India, Nepal, Korea etc.

Order: ANSERIFORMES   Family: Anatidae    Size: 16 inch    Food: seeds of aquatic plants, small fish, molluscs
